Silent Hill: Townfall Brings Psychological Horror to the Scottish Coast This September

The next chapter in Konami's long-running horror series finally has a release date.
Silent Hill: Townfall launches on September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Steam, and Epic Games, bringing players to a windswept Scottish island where old wounds refuse to stay buried.
Developed by Screen Burn and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and Konami, Townfall is a standalone psychological horror story that trades familiar streets and rusted fences for the cold isolation of St. Amelia, a remote island shrouded in fog and haunted by its past.
Players take on the role of Simon Ordell, who returns to St. Amelia with a simple but ominous instruction: put things right. What awaits him is a town that appears deserted at first glance, yet feels disturbingly alive beneath the silence. As Simon investigates his connection to the island and its former inhabitants, fragments of a long-submerged history begin to surface.
Unlike many previous entries in the series, Townfall unfolds entirely from a first-person perspective. Exploration and survival sit at the heart of the experience, with players relying on a limited collection of weapons and tools to navigate the island's dangers. Chief among them is the CRTV, a pocket-sized television capable of tuning into strange and unstable signals that reveal hidden clues — and perhaps things better left unseen.
Combat is sparse but intense, with survival often depending on evasion rather than confrontation. Narrative-driven puzzles and environmental storytelling gradually piece together a mystery that appears deeply entwined with Simon's own past.
The trailer below offers a deeper look at St. Amelia's oppressive atmosphere, showcasing mist-covered coastlines, decaying buildings, and fleeting glimpses of the horrors lurking beneath the island's surface. It continues to suggest that Townfall is less interested in jump scares and more focused on the psychological dread that has defined the series at its best.
Silent Hill: Townfall arrives on September 24 for PS5 and PC platforms. Players who pre-purchase will receive a collection of digital extras, including cosmetic items, soundtrack samples, an artbook, and 48 hours of early access ahead of launch. For fans of slow-burning psychological horror, September is looking increasingly foggy.
