Final Fantasy XVI is a PlayStation 5 Console Exclusive

Final Fantasy XVI is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. As revealed during the PlayStation 5 showcase on Wednesday, the latest in Square Enix’s storied RPG franchise will come first to PS5 with a PC release also planned.

Footage from Final Fantasy XVI, captured on PC “emulating a PS5 experience” kicked off Wednesday’s presentation. Producer Naoki Yoshida described the footage (which you can see below) as “but a fraction” of what his team has accomplished since development began on this new iteration.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog Yoshida, best known for his work on MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, also confirmed that the next reveal for the game is “scheduled for 2021”.
