I know we haven't mentioned events much over here at Jump Dash Roll but when one is happening which is so close to home, you can't help but make a bit of noise about it! The event in question is Nethermined -- one of Europe's largest Minecraft conventions, now in its fourth year. This year's family-friendly event is taking place at the Park Hotel in Tynemouth, UK, on August 11th and 12th.

This year's events will be hosting an impressive line-up of Minecraft YouTube stars featuring SirCutieYuki, Phoenixgg2, ItsRitchieW, and xiiRockstarrTv as well as Minecraft EDU talks and demos, YouTube star Meet and Greets, and plenty of opportunities to get hands-on with the game. But Minecraft isn't the be-all and end-all of things happening at the event. Nethermined partners, XpLoad, will be bringing other games to the event such as Fortnite, Overwatch, PUBG and Call of Duty for people to play or discover for the first time (yes, there are still people who don't know about Fortnite!).

If modern games aren't your thing, there will be a Retro Zone for everyone in the family to enjoy. If you want a more hands-on experience, then there will be VR games available to demo and to check out the next level in interactive gaming. Maybe you just want to shop for all things geeky and game related? Well, there will also be a retail zone packed full of interesting stalls to tempt you. Nethermined really does seem to have it planned!

Tickets are on sale now from the Nethermined website with VIP passes available. If you're going along, let us know in the comments what you're looking forward to seeing!

It all began with the Atari ST. Then the first home PC. And the rest is history. Although a platformer and RPG lass at heart, I'm willing to give anything a go, and if a game looks quirky then you've got my attention!
