Resident Evil Village will be getting some additional content in the near future. However, we don’t know what it is, and we don’t know when it’s coming. The announcement came during the Capcom E3 2021 Showcase on Monday.

The eighth game in the mainline Resident Evil series, Village was released in May and shipped 4 million copies in its first 20 days (per VGC). Downloadable content for the game always felt inevitable, so it’s somewhat surprising that there is currently no concrete details on what fans can expect.

However, to spin this into a positive, this approach may mean that Capcom can focus their attention towards the elements of the game players really liked as opposed to making firm plans ahead of time.

In more Resident Evil news, the multiplayer game RE:Verse will go live next month. The spin-off, which was delayed earlier this year, will allow players to play against one another as Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine and more of the series’ most iconic characters.

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil and many had hoped for more announcements from the seminal survival horror franchise. However, as far as E3 2021 goes, that was not to be.
