With over 120 enemy types and thirty boss fights spread across dozens of hours of gameplay, CrossCode is packing a lot of dungeon-crawling and RPG action into its reasonably priced package.

The game came out last year on PC, but the news that console owners have been waiting for is finally here: CrossCode will be hitting Xbox One, PS4 and Switch this week.

While CrossCode is an offline title, Radical Fish Games has crafted a bizarre MMORPG-style meta story, poking fun at online tropes and parodying the genre in a very appealing way.

The wait for the console version may also be tempered by a physical boxed release available for pre-order at Inin Games, in a number of shiny packages. All told, this looks like the kind of game Square Enix will be eyeing jealously.

CrossCode will launch on PS4, Switch and Xbox One on July 9th. Check back for our console review coming soon!

I've been gaming since the days of the Amstrad. Huge RPG fan. Planescape: Torment tops my list, but if a game tells a good story, I'm interested. Absolutely not a fanboy of any specific console or PC - the proof is in the gaming pudding. Also, I like cake.
