Watch Dogs Legion will be released on October 29th. This news came on Sunday during Ubisoft’s first Ubisoft Forward stream, with the date being announced at the end of a brand new gameplay trailer.

Showcasing the two main enemy factions that control this Watch Dogs version of London — Albion, lead by Nigel Cass, and a huge British crime organisation lead by Mary Kelley — and myriad customisation options, we got a glimpse at how different character archetypes and different approaches will affect how the game plays out.

Showing off an infiltration of the Tower of London with three different approaches, it’s easy to see just how varied the game could be. Whether you prefer the brutish all-action approach, something slightly more tech-focused, or something entirely stealthy there’s something here for you.

Seemingly playing like a beefed-up Watch Dogs 2, there are also lots of elements in the new trailer that fans of the series will be familiar with. However, that added layer of personality that the ridiculous roster of characters — remember, you can play as anyone in this game — will bring to the table.

The game is tied together under a general theme of political and social unrest. However, how that will play out in the final game is anyone’s guess. A short cinematic trailer created by Emmy Award winner Alberto Mielgo (above) is a tone piece for what’s to come. How far will the game lean on these aspects? We’ll have to wait and see.

Watch Dogs Legion launches on October 29th for PS4, PC and Xbox One. Next-generation versions are coming too, presumably once the consoles launch this holiday. Free upgrades to next generation versions will also be available.
