Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a PlayStation 5 launch game (officially!) and now Sony and Insomniac Games have finally shown off some gameplay. Taking place in a snow-covered New York, we finally got a little more detail on the kind of story we’ll be seeing in this Spidey side story.

Only two years removed from the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man [link review], a lot of what we can see in this reveal (watch the video below) will look familiar to fans of the original game. However, there appears to be a significant graphical bump and an overall smoothness to the combat.

It seems we might just get this from the original game too. Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition will also feature a download code for a remastered version of Marvel’s Spider-Man. The updated version of the original game is more than a standard resolution bump too.

“Many of the game’s art assets have been completely updated to take advantage of the PS5 console’s horsepower,” says Insomniac. “You’ll see better looking characters with improved skin, eyes, hair and facial animation (including our new, next-generation Peter Parker), added the developer.

The standard edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales will retail for £51.99 / $49.99 with the ultimate edition available for £69.99 / $69.99. This sees Sony following the trend of other next-generation releases getting a price increase.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch on PlayStation 5 alongside the console on November 12th/19th, dependent on your region. Surprisingly, the game will also launch on PlayStation 4 at the same time.
