SIFU has been delayed until 2022. The martial-arts movie inspired brawler from developer Sloclap got a new trailer during the latest PlayStation State of Play presentation.

The new footage shows off more of SIFU’s close-quarters combat, and also showcases the game’s aging mechanic — every time you’re beaten by an enemy, our hero will age. However, defeat will only make you stronger and more likely to achieve what you set out to do.

Now announced to release in “early 2022,” SIFU will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. Unfortunately, the delay has come due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, something that the developer highlighted in a statement:

"The Covid crisis and the subsequent lockdowns have been a huge challenge for everyone, and although we were lucky enough not to face the important revenue losses that many businesses have gone through, the situation did create some real challenges for us. Since March 2020 we have had to adapt to changing regulations, switching the whole team to remote working while we continued our development work, and we lost some velocity as a consequence – remote working has its advantages, but losing daily informal interactions between team members can also be hard to manage."

Hopefully we'll get to see more on SIFU towards the end of the year.
