EA and Jo-Mei Games have released a new trailer for forthcoming story-driven adventure Sea of Solitude. You'll guide Kay on a journey to overcome her loneliness while tackling the darkest depths of her mind. Cornelia Eppert, CEO of Jo-Mei Games, said that the game really "tugs on the heartstrings of its players by mirroring their own reality."

The art style is reminiscent of many similar games such as Rime and Vane (although we hope that the finished title is more like the former than the latter), while personal tales are becoming more popular — especially in the indie market, where recent release Gris also touched on aspects of loneliness and grief.

With challenging monsters and interesting environments to explore, we think it looks very promising indeed. It seems that the studio have poured their heart into its development too:

“Designing characters based on emotions was a deeply personal achievement for our team and we’re so excited for players to soon experience Kay’s powerful story of self-discovery and healing.” - Cornelia Geppert, CEO of Jo-Mei Games

Sea of Solitude will be released on July 5th, 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check back for more news nearer the time!

I've been gaming since the days of the Amstrad. Huge RPG fan. Planescape: Torment tops my list, but if a game tells a good story, I'm interested. Absolutely not a fanboy of any specific console or PC - the proof is in the gaming pudding. Also, I like cake.
