Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be the focus of a forthcoming PlayStation State of Play presentation on April 29th. The news comes alongside a brand new gameplay trailer, one that introduces Rivet — the female Lombax teased in the game’s initial announcement.

The new trailer (above) reintroduces players to Doctor Nefarious — or is that Emperor Nefarious? — and shows off more of the game’s dimension-hopping gameplay; something that is set to really showcase the PlayStation 5’s lighting-fast loading times.

In a mix of new cinematics and a touch of gameplay, both of which look fantastic, we’re given a glimpse at some of the vibrant new worlds Rift Apart will be sending our titular heroes to as well as a first look at Rivet in action.

With a State of Play coming on Thursday (April 29th), it’s likely that won’t be the last players see of the newly added Lombax either. Fifteen minutes of new gameplay has been promised for the presentation and, given the character’s prominence in the new trailer, it’s not a stretch to suggest we’ll be seeing a bit more of her.

Premiering at 9pm GMT / 5pm PST, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is clearly the focus of the stream. However, PlayStation may also choose to show off more first and third party titles such as Housemarq’s Returnal (which releases on Friday) and Resident Evil Village. We can hold out hope for something on God of War too, but that seems less likely.
