Hitman III will be the closing chapter in the World of Assassination trilogy and will contain “the most personal and intimate contract” of Agent 47's career when it arrives in January 2021.

Developer IO Interactive announced Hitman III during the PlayStation 5 reveal event on Thursday, showing off a short trailer to set the mood before taking 47 to Dubai in a separate clip.

The first trailer certainly has that conclusive air to it, whilst 47 dispatches targets in typically elusive fashion. We also get a glimpse at returning characters like Diana Bruntwood in there too. The gameplay focused follow-up showed Agent 47 scaling the heights of Dubai to presumably take out some high-rolling targets, as has been the theme for the most recent iterations.

The look and feel of the recent Hitman games also seems to have been retained, albeit with a much shinier coat of paint. As fans of the two most recent games can attest, IO Interactive have got the formula nailed down, so it’s probably a smart move that they don’t divert too far from that path.

Hitman III launches in January 2021 on both PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC. The game will also be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Where do you hope 47 finds himself next? Let us know in the comments.
