Saber Interactive announced an official Evil Dead video game at the Video Game Awards last week, and it’s set to come to both current and past-gen consoles, as well as PC.

According to a press release, the game will be set in the serious but also comedic universe of the Evil Dead movies and shows, with players taking control of various characters from the series as they fight and craft their way through the deadites and other players in third person combat.

The game will also allow one player to take control of a “boss monster” that hunts down the other players, it will have a plethora of weapons, and there will be skill trees for players to progress through in between missions.

The game will also have dialogue voiced by Bruce Campbell, the actor who’s portrayed the series’ protagonist Ash in various movies and shows.

"I’m excited to be strapping on the chainsaw one more time,” said Campbell in a press release. “Boss Team and Saber Interactive are planning a huge immersive dealio, and I knew I had to come back. You’ll be able to step into my shoes and kick some Deadite ass!”

The game is set to release at some point in 2021 on the various Xboxes, PlayStations and PC, and when there’s more news available about the game, you can be sure to read about it here on Jump Dash Roll!

Somebody once told me the world was going to roll me, and they were right. I love games that let me take good-looking screenshots and ones that make me depressed, so long as the game doesn't overstay its welcome.
