Redfall opened up the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase on Sunday giving viewers a look at the blood-soaked gameplay of Arkane Studios’ new vampire-themed shooter, particularly how it plays in co-op.

After all, multiplayer is something new to add to the ever-immersive worlds created by the developer of Prey and Dishonored. The gameplay clip showcased some of the powers of each protagonist, whilst leaning into the satisfying gunplay that made Deathloop such a joy to play. And blending a multiplayer open world campaign and Arkane’s densely detailed environments could be yet another crowning achievement for the developer.

Playing as one of four vampire hunters, players will explore Redfall’s open-world whilst taking out blood-suckers however they can. The gameplay clip shows off sniper Jacob taking out enemies from above whilst engineer Remy deals with them close quarters with her robot buddies. At the same time Devinder takes the gadget-based scientific approach whilst Layla supports using her more supernatural abilities.

Redfall looks to be a fun and varied affair with plenty of ways to deal with the undead, either solo or with friends. Alas, we’ll have to wait until sometime in 2023 for the game to launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
