No More Heroes III is coming in 2020 and Travis Touchdown will indeed return. The otaku assassin anti-hero made an appearance in a teaser trailer shown during the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct presentation on Tuesday.

From the mind of Suda-51, developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Marvellous Games, No More Heroes III is set to be just as ridiculously over the top as the previous games if this minute and a half is anything to by.

There is a sliver of gameplay in there amongst all of the sharp, bright anime nonsense, which suggests that motion controls may return for Travis’ proper debut on the Nintendo Switch. No More Heroes and its sequel were cult-classic Wii games, which utilised the Wiimote as our hero’s sword. Could we be doing the same with a Joy-Con in 2020?

Travis Touchdown made his Switch debut in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, a spin-off from the main NMH series released in January 2019. The game received mixed reviews upon release, but did highlight some of Suda-51’s favourite indie developers. This is something he’s clearly fond of, with Travis appearing to play Gabe Cuzzillo’s Ape Out during the trailer.
