Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will deliver more story missions, improved melee, and extra ridiculous ways to bring packages to the people of America on September 24th.

This “remastered” version of Hideo Kojima’s divisive game also brings the game to PlayStation 5, making those post-apocalyptic vistas and Norman Reedus’ face even better looking. However, that’s not all.

A larger update than the name Director’s Cut may suggest, the updated version of Death Stranding will upgrade the game’s melee combat, add a new taser gun and even bring a firing range to the game too. If you prefer to keep to delivering packages, you can now shoot them across the map with a Cargo Catapult or have a robot buddy — genuinely one of my favourite parts of the original game — walk alongside you with extra packages. Players can even race on the Fragile Circuit, which seems unnecessary.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be available from September 24th. This will be released as a whole new PlayStation 5 game, but players who own the PS4 version will be able to upgrade for $10/€10 (per VGC). A system that is much simpler than the Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut.
