Team17 today announced a release date for My Time at Portia, a sandbox simulation RPG which has been in Early Access on Steam.

Portia is a post-apocalyptic town on the edge of civilisation which sees players try to rebuild society by starting a small workshop and — with help from relics of the previous era — restore some semblance of a normal life to the townspeople.

My Time at Portia features unique NPCs with their own behaviour patterns. They will go about their daily lives, exercising, doing jobs, going to school and entertaining each other. Story paths are also available for players to discover, and friendships and romances (which may lead to marriage) are also on the cards.

To celebrate the release date, Team17 has unveiled a new trailer.

The PC version of My Time at Portia will be released on Steam and the Epic Games Store on January 15th, 2019.

Console versions of the game are also in development and will be released simultaneously alongside their digital versions when they arrive in Spring 2019.

The Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon inspiration is clear to see, so we expect this to be a charming (and possibly huge) hit.

I've been gaming since the days of the Amstrad. Huge RPG fan. Planescape: Torment tops my list, but if a game tells a good story, I'm interested. Absolutely not a fanboy of any specific console or PC - the proof is in the gaming pudding. Also, I like cake.
