It hasn't taken a huge amount of time since the release of version 3.0.0, but hackers have now found a way to make an alternative homebrew launcher for the Nintendo Switch. This comes hot on the heels of another (yet to be released) exploit in the console, which hackers claimed couldn't be patched.

The current launcher is only hackable on the latest firmware, but it is the start of a rocky road for Nintendo if they are unable to counter it, since it has the potential to lead to full scale piracy of Switch games.

Nintendo will no doubt be keeping a very close eye on this breakthrough, as the Switch is currently enjoying a huge amount of success in the console market, and the ability to pirate its software could make a significant impact on sales.

I've been gaming since the days of the Amstrad. Huge RPG fan. Planescape: Torment tops my list, but if a game tells a good story, I'm interested. Absolutely not a fanboy of any specific console or PC - the proof is in the gaming pudding. Also, I like cake.
