Apex Legends players on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and now Nintendo Switch will all be able to play together very soon as new crossplay functionality is introduced “this fall”. The news was announced during EA Play Live on Thursday (Friday in the UK).

Crossplay is slowly becoming standard practice in multiplayer games, with other big franchises like Call of Duty embracing the idea after Fortnite originally tore down the walls in October 2018.

News of Apex Legends’ impending crossplay came shortly before an announcement that the free-to-play, squad-based, battle royale game would be launching on Nintendo Switch. This too will be happening in “the fall,” so it seems safe to assume that crossplay and a Switch port will be coming hand in hand.

Started with the PlayStation, now I'm here... with a PlayStation. Once skipped school to play the Metal Gear Solid demo repeatedly. I love stories big and small. Trophy hunter. Recent VR convert. Probably a hipster.
