Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming to PlayStation 5 this holiday season. The first PlayStation Studios title shown off during Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event on Thursday, it gave fans a tease of just what they can expect from this continuation of the Spider-Man story.

Coming just two years after the release of the critically acclaimed Spider-Man, Insomniac Games has wasted little time in bringing Miles Morales — a second Spider-Man who featured alongside Peter Parker in the original game — into his own.

From the teaser (which you can watch below) we can see that players will don Miles’ signature black and red suit and that we’ll be swinging around New York City once again, albeit with a few seasonal changes, and taking on new enemies.

Little else is known about the title but, with a “Holiday 2020” launch window announced, speculation is rife that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available at the launch of the PlayStation 5.

The PlayStation 5 is currently slated for a “Holiday 2020” release, and whilst we didn’t hear anything in regards to a date or a price at the reveal event, we do know what the PlayStation 5 looks like and that there will be two versions.

UPDATE: A previous version of this article stated that in an interview with The Telegraph (per Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle), Sony Interactive Entertainment’s EVP head of European Business, Simon Rutter confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is “more akin to an expansion” to the original Spider-Man game released in 2018. A later tweet from Insomniac stated that this was incorrect and that the game was a standalone entry in the series. We will update this article as we learn more.
